Cremation Options

Making final arrangements for a loved one can be a very difficult process for families who have just experienced a loss. It is important to provide those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can begin to find closure, say goodbye, and come to terms with their loss. We offer a variety of ideas and options to meet each individual’s unique needs in honoring their loved ones.

Direct Cremation

Sunset Cremations is a licensed Direct Disposer in the State of Florida. This means that Sunset Cremations can only offer Direct Cremation services to the public. Below is a list of options and ideas for the final resting place of your loved one’s cremated remains as well as services to honor and celebrate their life.

Memorial Service

Families can hold a special service in honor of their loved ones with or without their cremated remains present. Usually a Memorial Service will be held with a photo of your loved one alongside the urn with their cremated remains. Family and friends can share memories and stories while reflecting on their life. In some cases, a reception with light refreshment follows the service. While Sunset Cremations does not provide these service,we recommend Van Orsdel Funeral & Cremation Service for families looking to hold a Memorial Service in honor of their loved one.

Scattering of Cremated Remains

Our Basic Cremation Package includes scattering of Cremated Remains at Sea. Our Scattering Ceremonies usually occur every 90-120 days. Your family will be provided with a Scattering at Sea Certificate indicating the date, time, and exact coordinates of where the scattering took place.

Many families also choose to have a private Scattering at Sea ceremony so that they can be present during the scattering. Please call us or send us a message through our contact form for recommendations.

Finally, families can also Scatter Cremated Remains in a National Park, Memorial Garden or other meaningful site. You should always obtain permission and adhere to the rules and regulations of your chosen scattering site.

Interment of Cremated Remains

Interment means that you'll bury or entomb your loved one's cremated remains. This can be in a family plot, a memorial site, a cremation niche or urn garden, or in a variety of other indoor and outdoor locations. Usually niches will have certain dimensions, so you should always verify these dimensions before purchasing an urn that you intend to place in a niche. Please call or send us a message through our contact form for cemetery property information.

Dividing Cremated Remains

Placing cremated remains in multiple urns allows family members who are separated by distance to each feel the comfort of having their loved one's final resting place in a nearby location. Our online urn store offers a variety of urns, keepsakes, and cremation jewelry for you to find a meaningful memento to hold your loved one’s cremated remains.
